Security Guard

Job Summary:

MS Security is seeking diligent and vigilant Unarmed Cargo Security Guards to join our Cargo Security Department. Security Guards will be responsible for maintaining security and safety onboard vessels to prevent drug trafficking, ensure cargo security, and uphold peace and order. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to security protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in maritime environments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of cargo areas, storage facilities, and access points onboard vessels to deter and detect unauthorized activities, including drug smuggling and contraband.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and other security equipment to maintain situational awareness and promptly respond to security incidents or breaches.
• Assist senior security personnel in implementing access control measures, verifying credentials, and screening individuals and cargo for security threats.
• Report any security breaches, suspicious activities, or safety hazards to senior security personnel and vessel authorities in a timely manner.
• Participate in security drills and exercises to enhance readiness and response capabilities in emergency situations, including drug interdiction and crisis management.
• Conduct routine inspections of security equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any maintenance issues to senior security personnel.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of security activities, incidents, and equipment inspections as required by company policies and regulatory standards.
• Follow established security protocols and procedures, including adherence to international maritime laws and regulations related to cargo security and drug trafficking prevention.
• Cooperate and communicate effectively with other security team members, vessel crew, and port authorities to ensure effective security operations.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in maritime security practices and procedures.
